In line with James Dean theme Urban often translates as being effortlessly cool. Follow in the footsteps of James Dean, also known as the ‘king of cool’ and live fast in the streets of Paris, London, NY, London and Berlin by obtaining the ‘King’s’ four must-have items: the leather jacket, a pair of denim, the white t-shirt and biker style boots. Leather continues to play a key role in autumn 2010 so you won’t miss.

My favourites...

KAIN’S SILK AND MODAL T-SHIRT, £70 will get you the look and will serve as a good classic investment. Everyone needs basics! The front pocket gives a bit of visual interest. Team it up with Fall’s 2010 inspired suiting/sharp tailoring, keep it simple to work the minimalist look or pair it up with straight leg denim. Regardless of what you choose – it will carry you easily to the next season.

NOBODY DENIM, Boyfriend Fit Jeans, £168
Straight leg wash out denim was Dean’s favourite. This Nobody Denim’s straight-legged style, with a casual, not constricting fit is great for a casual, dressed-down wear. Not too baggy or shabby. Roll up one leg for a more authentic look.

Don’t forget to update the classic black boots by incorporating this autumn’s trends: remember – details matters this season - thus think stitching, lumberjack lacing, buckles and straps.
Also, think practical: shearling trend can be easy and wearable and with ChloĆ©'s nude suede lace-up ankle boots. Pull them on with light-blue denim or leggings and quilted nylon jacket (as seen in Burberry) for effortless urban look. Back to footwear, Chanel and D&G used fur and faux fur, and the clog was updated with ankle straps at Betty Jackson. Fabric uppers and rubber soles replaced leather at Erdem and ChloĆ© respectively.

Chloe’s wedge-boots, £575

Comfortable and bang-on-trend, these should be on every fashionista’s wish-list. Wear them with a shearling or nylon jacket and suede leggings for a refined aviation trend (Fall’s 2010 favourite) which perfectly mixes with urban look.

Do not blindly follow the camel trend - yes, camel may be the new black this autumn/winter, however, urban fashion is rather creating, than following trends. In urban terms, the colour ‘camel’ translates into ‘yellow’.  Remain cool and unique by embracing the colour.

For instance, add some quirkiness with these Prada aviator sunglasses, £179 or some glitz and glamour with Michael Kors watch

Michael Kors acrylic  watch, £179. Sportswear and luxury accessories designer Michael Kors’s recent classy yet cool timepiece can instantly update even the oldest outfit. Sleek and sexy, perfect for fashion consious young men and women.

Michael Kors suede track pants, £2170 Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Totally. Translate the luxe-sportswear trend seen in many catwalks into a more wearable look. Stroll around the city with the comfort of the jog bottoms but with the look of a million-dollar babe.

Ticking the latest trends of the season – the Camel, the Luxury Sportswear, Slouchy Silhouette- it sounds like a perfect investment.

If you are a big fan of oversized handbags, you will love S/S10 must have – the rucksack.  May not sound too appealing, but the recent rucksack is very chick and stylish. They were loved by Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton, Ashish who opted for cyber tribes with ink-dyed acid-bright as well as Heikki Salonen designing leather version with canvas straps.

SASS AND BIDE LEGGINS, £890.  With a pair of leggings like this, you are guaranteed to be spotted and featured in every fashion blog across the globe. Beautifully finished and embellished (and very-high end) only for the bravest and the most fashion-conscious trend followers.

Team them up with a pair of Bess skull printed vintage t-shirts, £97 to complete the ‘grunge meets rock chick’ look or leave the leggings to make a statement with a pair of simple white T-shirts.

And finally, PHILIP LIM CARGO PANTS, £320 Cargo pants will channel the utility trend, simple yet so chic.
